Terrance “Terry” L. Payne, age 82, passed away Wednesday November 13, 2024 surrounded by his family at Cardinal Ridge Residential Care, Green Bay, WI. He was born December 10, 1941 to the late Edward and Virginia (Knox) Payne in New London, WI. He attended Green Bay East High School. Terry then attended UW Stevens Point, earning a degree in Education. On November 27, 1965 he married Joyce Chapiewski in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Together they shared almost 59 years of marriage.
Terry worked as an English Teacher in Rhinelander, WI and Seymour, WI. After retirement from teaching, he worked for Green Bay Cheese Company as a production worker. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan and did attend the Ice Bowl in 1967.
Terry is survived by his wife: Joyce; three children: Steven (Andrea) Payne, Nichelle (Greg) Krause, Michael (Cheryl) Payne; seven grandchildren: Amanda Payne, Samantha Payne, Alyssa Krause, Caden Krause (Fiancé Alyssa Janssen), Madelyn Krause, Jinx Payne and Henry Payne; One brother: Clark (Sharon) Payne; sisters and brothers in laws: Sandra (Eugene) Weinfurter, Marlene (Dennis) Gorczany and Kay DuPree; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Virginia Payne; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Chester and Beth (Wakefield) Chapiewski; sisters-in-law and brother-in-laws: Sharon and Thomas Smith; brother-in-law: David DuPree.
A Celebration of Life will occur at 12:00 pm on Saturday November 23, 2024 at The Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay with Chaplain Steven Fewell officiating. Visitation will occur from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be sent in Terry’s name to UW Madison Carbone Cancer Center.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, Cardinal Ridge Residential Care and numerous family and friends for their support.
