Thomas Verheyden Obituary

Thomas R. Verheyden, 80, a life-long resident of Green Bay, passed away on Monday June 21, 2021 following a long journey of renal and heart failure. He was born in Green Bay on November 17, 1940 to the late Gordon and Armella (Vickman) Verheyden.

Tom was a 1959 graduate of Green Bay East High School. He then served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He was a machinist at FMC/Hudson Sharp for over 40 years. Tom was a proud Veteran who enjoyed fishing and watching the Packers.

Tom is survived by his children: Steve (Tami) Verheyden, Sharon (Brian) Shimanek, Shawn (James) Evenson and Scott Verheyden (Special friend Kelli). His sisters: Carol Meyer, Joanie Verheyden (special friend Bonnie) and nieces and a nephew. His grandchildren: Samantha (Ray) and Travis; Ashley and Holly: Cody and Jenna: Kaitlynn and Emily (their mother Beth). His great-grandchildren: Julia, Gunner, Taylor, Zayden, Avalei, and Phoenyx :His friend: LaVonne.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ron Meyer.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday June 26th, 2021 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday June 26th, 2021 at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Mike Dabeck. Military honors will follow the service and entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum in the wall of honor at a later date.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Woodside Manor II, Dr. Steven Neu, Bellin Cardiac Care, and Gwen from Unity Hospice for their care and compassion shown towards Tom and his family.
