Thomas "Tom" Christianson Obituary

Thomas “Tom” H. Christianson, age 66, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, November 13, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Tom was born in Green Bay to the late Virgil and Jean (Frangquist) Christianson. He lived most of his life in Green Bay.

After graduating from Southwest High School in Green Bay and UW LaCrosse, Tom worked in many fields before he found his work family at The White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. He spent more than three decades there as a Master Fish Boiler and Prep Chef.

One of his favorite summertime activities was traveling the state to play miniature golf, often with one of his brothers. Tom enjoyed all sports, especially high school volleyball. He was a JV coach at Green Bay Southwest. Once his niece, Jenn, started playing volleyball, he would often travel to Houghton, Michigan to watch matches at the high school where his brother, John, coached. Even after Jenn graduated, Tom continued to follow the team, either at home or on the road. Most of all, he was an avid Packers fan.

The center of Tom’s life was his family. Uncle Tom was loved by and deeply loved his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as ‘The Fun Uncle’.

Survivors include uncle, Oscar (Clara) Frangquist; brother, John (Becky) Christianson, nieces, Jenn (James) Leonard and Amy (Ben) Johnson; brother, Bob (Debbie) Christianson, nieces, Michelle (TJ) Wilson and Melissa (Chris) Norton, and nephew, Matt (Sallee) Christianson, and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at West Side Moravian Church, 1707 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, with Pastor Marian Boyle Rohloff officiating. The family will welcome relatives and friends at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. A time for fellowship and remembering will follow the service. Burial at Moravian Cemetery will occur at a later date.
