Valentina Statkevich Obituary

Valentina V. Statkevich, age 100, of Green Bay passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Care Partners, Oconto.

Valentina was born September 4, 1924 in Mikhaylovsk Region Sverdlovsk,Russia, daughter of the late Vasiliy Zakcharov and Anastasia (Fokina) Zakcharova.

Valentina enjoyed crossword puzzles, Russian TV detective dog shows, going to restaurants and listening to her Russian music radio station on her internet radio.

Valentina worked as a doctor in Russia and retired 15 years before immigrating to America.  She immigrated to America January 22, 2012 and became a United States citizen on July 13, 2017.  She brought with her 88 years of Russian history experience, education and medical training in both the new medical ways as well as the old traditional ways that she used in her practice as well as helping others much the same as many other Asian and European countries.  She lived in her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Little Suamico prior to her admittance to the Care Partners Assisted Living facility in Oconto.  Her home care was practiced by her daughter Olga using the same methods taught to her by her mother.  She was later cared for by the excellent staff at the Care Partners facility who many took care of her as if she was their own mother.  Many of the staff called her “Our Baby”.  We are grateful to all who helped and supported her care.  We want to thank the Unity Hospice team for her care of several years that was way beyond their typical time and also the Lakeland Care team who helped us navigate through several contentious times.

Valentina was a very kind, peaceful, content person who was never demanding or angry. She allowed her daughter Olga to do whatever needed to care for her without question and she was confident knowing that Olga would do everything in her best interest.  Valentina’s years here in America where mostly drug free and vaccine free so she truly passed away peacefully without pain, without any medical or pharmaceutical interventions.  Many times, she was asked how she was doing and, in most cases, responded either “Great” or “Good” in English.  Several times she was singing even up to her final days.  Most people only dream of the miracles in their lives while we experienced the blessed miracles of Valentina every day, she was with us. Valentina was a true pioneer; a leader and she will be dearly missed by all who really knew her.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law:  Olga & Marc Alan Winzenried, daughter Ludmila Arzamastseva; grandson: Andrey Buynyakov, granddaughter & grand son-in-law Jessica & Josh Hermsen, granddaughter Irina Radchanko, great grandson Asher Hermsen and great granddaughter Indiana Hermsen.  Her family living in Ekaterinburg Russia include her daughter Ludmila Arzamastseva, granddaughters Julia Kokovina & Irina Egorkina; great granddaughters Natalia Briukhovetskaya & Anna Viukhina; great grandsons Maxim Egorkin, Roman Egorkin & Fyodor Kokovin.  She was preceded in death by her parents Vasiliy Zakcharov & Anastasia Zakcharova, her husband Ivan Statkevich and a grandson Kostya Buynyakov.

A visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 with some readings from Olga and Marc Alan.  Following this visitation, we will meet at 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery for a graveside service.  She will be laid to rest next to her grandson Kostya Buynykov as she requested.
