Wayne D. Klimek

Wayne D. Klimek, 82, of Green Bay passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay.

Wayne was born on June 11, 1940 in Green Bay to the late Daniel and Grace (DeVos) Klimek. He was a graduate of Green Bay East High School. Wayne served his country in the United States Navy. On May 28, 1966, he married the former Mary Cole. Wayne was a Designer for the Paper Converting Machine Co. for over 30 years. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing handball, softball, golfing, and spending time in Door County at their summer place.  He cherished the Wednesday drives on Brad’s day off.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Mary; two sons: Shawn Klimek, Springfield, VA, and Brad Klimek, Green Bay; grandchildren: Cora Klimek, Lily Klimek, and Celia Klimek, all of Springfield, VA; sisters and brother: Patricia (William) Katers, Christine Klimek, and David (Karen) Klimek; brother-in-law: Richard (Janet) Cole; and nieces and nephews: Nicholas (Paula), Jennifer (Edward), Jessica, Adam (Jennifer), Aaron (Holly), Cindy, Sandy (Jack), David (Lori), Mark (Mary), Mike (Julie), Paul, and Joel (Marilyn). He is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Grace Klimek; his parents-in-law: Arthur and Agnes Cole; sister-in-law: Judy (Lyle) Albrecht; special cousin: Doug Klimek; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., with Deacon John Bundra officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Wayne will be laid to rest at Allouez Mausoleum.
