William Robert “Buck” Strehlow, age 86, of Green Bay passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay.
Bill was born April 16, 1939, in Green Bay, the son of the late William K. and Ruth (Hacker) Strehlow. He was a graduate of East High School with the Class of 1958. He was united in marriage to ValVerda Johnson on October 14, 1968. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2005.
Bill entered the military immediately after high school and served proudly as a Marine for six years (one in Korea). As a civilian, he worked the majority of his career for Hobart Sales & Services as a Service Technician Supervisor, retiring in 2002 after 37 years. After retirement, he spent many years volunteering for AARP during the tax season. He was a recent member of the Moose Club, and like most Wisconsinites, loved a good Friday fish fry. He also enjoyed westerns, watching the Packers, sharing stories of his youth and military days, and partaking in an occasional three fingers of bourbon. Most of all though, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children: one son, Todd (Missy) Strehlow, two daughters, Tracy (partner, Todd Thiel), and Stacy (John) Dupay; seven grandchildren: Alexzandra (partner, Andrew Boncher), Nolin (Alexis) Strehlow, Garrett Mooren, Allysa Mooren, Zachary Dupay, Edison Dupay, and Daphne Dupay; and one great-grandchild, Annabeth Strehlow. Survivors also include sisters-in-law, Sheri Strehlow, Karin Oligney, Marilyn (Roger) Van Lanen, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, ValVerda Strehlow, his parents William & Ruth Strehlow, his parents-in-law, Gustave & Lillian Johnson, his siblings Jacqueline Richard Ullmer, Maxine & Robert Picard, and Robert Strehlow, sister-in-law, Eileen & William Kline, and brothers-in-law William Oligney and Richard Johnson.
Cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2553 Skyline Oaks Drive, De Pere, WI, 54115, from noon - 3:00 p.m.
