William "Bill" H. Greatens

William “Bill” H. Greatens, age 80, of Green Bay, passed away at home on Friday, September 15, 2017.  He was born as the seventh son and youngest of twelve, on December 6, 1936, in Green Bay to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Linssen) Greatens.  Bill graduated from West High School in the Class of 1955.  He married the former Carole Dahin on October 13, 1956 and together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage.  Bill enjoyed playing sports in his younger years and was an avid bowler.  He had a love for music and playing cards.  Bill loved all his Wisconsin teams, cheering on the Brewers, Packers, and the Badgers.  Above all else, Bill loved his family, including his dogs, Benny, Ashe, Nelli, Pretty, and Cooper.

Bill’s memory is cherished by his loving wife, Carole; his children, Rick Greatens, Mark (Becky Fahler) Greatens, Lori Lambert, and Lisa Greatens; grandchildren, Mandi (Tom) Heling and their children, Norah, Lila, and Rosalie, Jessica Greatens and her son, Landon, Annette (Ben) Nelsen and their children, Sofiah, Max, Chandler, and Forrest, Ryan Lambert, Kayla Fahler and her daughter, Nadia, Emily Greatens, Travis Lambert, and Jacob Fahler; and siblings, Shirley Aerts and Joseph Greatens.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his siblings, Al Greatens, Margaret Vanden Heuvel, Arnold Greatens, Florence Clark, Don Greatens, Helen Ambrosius, Ralph Greatens, Dorothy Vanden Langenberg, and Jim Greatens; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends may visit Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.  In honor of Bill's love for the Packers, his family asks that all who attend his services wear Packer apparel.
